The Crest

During the pandemic, we collaborated with a student designer from the University of Houston’s CreationStation to help us create an identity for Houston Town that we feel best represents the city and Houstonians.

Houston Town

Downtown at the birthplace of Houston, Allen’s Landing, you’ll find “The Town of Houston” etched into stone. When the city’s founders first advertised and announced Houston in 1836, it was publicized as this name. Today, Houston is a collection of several distinct towns (neighborhoods) that together form the 4th largest city in the United States.

Space Explorer Figure

The space explorer figure represents all men and women that call Houston home – a Houstonian. Popular in science fiction, travelers of space come from all walks of life and galaxies far, far away. Being one of the most diverse cities in the United States, an astronaut symbolizes Houston’s diversity where at least 145 languages are spoken by city residents.

Bayous of Houston

In 1836, Houston was founded at the confluence of Buffalo Bayou and White Oak Bayou which today is known as Allen’s Landing. Though Houstonians might argue brown would be a better representation, blue was chosen to represent these historically significant bodies of water.

Space Exploration

Home to NASA’s Manned Spacecraft Center and spoken as one of the first words on the moon, Houston is commonly referred to as “Space City” with the color black representing space exploration.
